Song: Open Up the Sky

I have no idea if this is a well-known song or an obscure tune, but I just became acquainted with "Open Up the Sky" by Jonathan Stockstill of the band Deluge, coming out of the Bethany World Prayer Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

I love the chorus...
Open up the sky, fall down like rain,
we don't want blessings, we want You
Open up the sky, fall down like fire,
we don't want anything but You
We won't be satisfied with anything ordinary,
we won't be satisfied at all
It is a beautiful idea that resonated within me. I told Cathy I wanted to preach on the impermanence of this world and the realness of the life to come (cf. The Great Divorce). I would want this song in the music leading up to the sermon.

Integrity has made the song and chord chart available. It is well worth listening.

  1. Re: Fleas. I KNEW IT!! They have started to come this way. Darn John...grrrr...Luckily my cats are treated (but I'm not and I have bites all over my legs). I bet those fleas immediately jumped on the appraiser!

  2. Never heard the song but one that comes to mind that I love right now is "Otherside" by Mikeschair... makes me think of how this world will someday be gone and what's to come will be so much better!

  3. i went online to find the lyrics to this song and i wound up here so God bless you and your family and your minestry!
